The Queensland Government has released options for a new State Fossil emblem – have your say on what you think it should be. The new State fossil emblem will join the State’s nine official emblems – Coat of Arms, State badge, State flag, aquatic emblem, fauna emblem, bird emblem, floral emblem, State gem and State colour. There are twelve fossils to choose from with the nominations closing on 10 July.

Why we're searching for a fossil emblem
Did you know in the Early Cretaceous Period, inland seas covered much of Outback Queensland?
Queensland has some of the most exciting fossil museums, dinosaur trails and discovery centres in the world, including the internationally renowned fossil sites of the Riversleigh World Heritage Area. Outback Queensland towns – like Hughenden, Richmond and Winton on Australia’s Dinosaur Trail, and many other Outback areas such as Eromanga, Eulo and Quilpie – regularly attract fossil hunters and dinosaur lovers.
You can help to decide what Queensland’s new State fossil emblem should be.
