Air Canada peak season expansion
Air Canada has announced a further expansion of its Sydney-Vancouver service, with an additional three weekly return flights scheduled to operate during the northern hemisphere summer period (6 June - 5 Sept 2022 ex Australia). As a result, Air Canada will offer a total of 10 weekly direct Sydney-Vancouver flights during this peak travel period. The new B787 Dreamliner services (flight AC38), will depart Sydney on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday at 13:40, providing Australian customers with the option of a later departure, conveniently timed for domestic connections. Canadian wildlife crossing
After more than 10 years of consultation, research and planning, a team of conservation and road ecology experts, members of the Ktunaxa First Nation, and staff from local transportation and natural resources ministries have broken ground on the first phase of an ambitious wildlife crossing system that seeks to prevent wildlife-vehicle collisions along a deadly stretch of highway in British Columbia. Called “Reconnecting the Rockies”, the project is anchored by a 50-metre-wide overpass spanning the highway and rail line, and has the potential to reduce the number of wildlife-vehicle collisions by up to 90 percent.
