Blooming Azaleas Fill Park in Tatebayashi City

Tsutsujigaoka Park in Tatebayashi City
From early April till early May at Tsutsujigaoka Park in Tatebayashi City, Gunma Prefecture, the blooming azaleas fill the entire area with bright and robust colours.

The azaleas in the park are known to be around 800 years old and among them, the Space Azaleas are especially popular as they were sprouted from seeds that Japanese astronaut Chiaki Mukai brought into space.

As a prominent spot for viewing azaleas, the park attracts as many as 100,000 visitors each year!
