Northern destinations celebrate summer festivals and events for April 30 and May 1

For the April 30 and May 1 holidays this year, various destinations in the north will launch attractive services and hold many festivals to start the summer tourism season after more than two years of "hibernation" due to the epidemic. Some focal points such as Sa Pa, Quang Ninh, and especially 'new tourist star' Thanh Hoa promise to surprise visitors in the northern area.

Thanh Hoa explodes with festival after festival throughout the summer
Many events and festivals have been scheduled in Thanh Hoa for the summer; they promise to give visitors exciting experinces they will never forget. With Sun Group's collaboration, Thanh Hoa aims to become a tourist star of the northern region this summer, with festivals and art shows on a grand scale.

Thanh Hoa will start the 2022 summer vacation season on April 23 night, with the Ceremony of 115 years of Sam Son tourism, the five-year celebration of Sam Son City, and the Opening of the 2022 Sam Son Beach Tourism Festival at Sam Son Beach Hall. The festival will be staged elaborately and spectacularly by leading Vietnamese artists under the direction of 'stage wizard' Pham Hoang Nam.

The impression of the Sam Son Beach Tourism Festival in 2022 announces itself right from the stage design on the opening night. Making up the title "S.A.M.S.O.N" from six letters, the choreography is made especially for each performance, combined with Dong Son bronze drum motifs. This summer, the biggest festival stage in Thanh Hoa will express the focal points of culture and unique art, drawing on the story of the colourful Thanh land.

In addition to the unique art performances performed by famous artists on the opening night, Sam Son Beach Tourism Festival will also kick off this special summer of Thanh land with a sparkling fireworks party.

After the opening night of the Sam Son Beach Tourism Festival 2022, Thanh Hoa will become as vibrant as ever during the summer with a series of festivals and art and entertainment programs, such as the Street Carnival; Kite flying festival; Parachute Festival; and a large motorcycle parade.

Every Saturday, SunFest Thanh Hoa's art show will gather many famous artists and many exciting side activities.

Ha Long – a shining wonder
On April 30 - May 1, Carnaval Ha Long will re-appear with the theme: "Ha Long - A shining wonder with SEA Games 31."

In Wonder Street, the festival will explode this year with a parade of 10 elaborately invested model flower cars and a top musical and art party, which ends with a spectacular firework display on the bay.

Ha Long has also launched the Night Street Cruise. This will be the first-night tourism product of the heritage region and is expected to help boost the attractiveness of Ha Long at night.

Experiencing the Cruise Night Street tour, visitors will admire the shimmering coastal city of Ha Long at night and enjoy a delicious dinner in Asian and European style on two 'boats.' The cost for each experience will start from 500,000 VND per person.

The No. 1 entertainment paradise in the north, Sun World Ha Long Complex, will allow visitors to explore the world's leading modern game world at an exceptional price.

Visitors will enjoy exploring two of three parks - Dragon Park, Typhoon Water Park, or Queen Cable Car - for 500,000 VND, or use a combo to explore all three parks for 600,000 VND. A combo pack of three parks is only valid for two days, April 30 and May 1, from the date of ticket purchase. Each garden is only available to be experienced once.

Celebrating its second anniversary, from April 30 to May 1, Yoko Onsen Quang Hanh Resort will hold the Natsu Summer Festival. It will give visitors a cultural space imbued with Japanese imprints and exciting activities such as Ikebana flower arrangement, Origami paper folding art, and jubilant Yosakoi dance.

Sapa - brilliant Fansipan Rose Festival 2022
On the April 30 holiday, Sapa will be a surprise destination for visitors with the largest rose festival in the country with the theme ‘Rose land in the Clouds.’

Taking place at Sun World Fansipan Legend tourist area from April 23 to May 23, the Rose Festival will gather hundreds of rare varieties with more than 4,000 Sapa climbing roses and 1.5 hectares of Sapa ancient roses, along with other beautiful flowers.

The small landscape made from unique and impressive roses will allow visitors to explore the magical world of roses, as beautiful as a fairy tale.

The highlight of the Fansipan rose festival is the parade of flower carts in the centre of Sapa Town, with the participation of 30 rose cars and beautiful actors and actresses in ethnic costumes.

One more event to look forward to in Sapa is the fourth ‘Horse Hooves Race in the Clouds,’ which will take place from April 29 to May 2.

This year, the top 30 jockeys in the northwest, from the localities of Na Hoi - Bac Ha, Simacai, Lai Chau, Tuyen Quang, Bat Xat - Lao Cai, will join the race, which promises to bring thrilling and spectacular races on the track surrounding the largest rose valley in the country.
