Connecting Vietnam and international flight routes will contribute to the country’s economic recovery plans in the year.

Since the early morning of January 1, 2022, a group of nearly 150 passengers from Japan arrived in Hanoi, becoming the first guest of Vietnam for the year.

The visitors, who came from Tokyo on Vietjet Air flight, received a warm welcome from leading representatives of the airline, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, and the Noi Bai International Airport.

The Hanoi-Tokyo route resumed from January 1 by Vietjet would produce one flight/week and more in the new future. In addition, VietJet Air, the Best Ultra Low-Cost Airline in 2021 by the world’s only airline safety and product rater AirlineRatings, has announced flight schedules for Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) with Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, and Taiwan in the first days of the year.

For domestic routes, the first day of the year marked the first visitors to famous destinations like Ho Chi Minh City, Danang, and Thua Thien-Hue. On the first day, the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines operated the Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City flight, the Hanoi-Hue, and the Ho Chi Minh City-Danang.

Among destinations, Danang welcomed the largest number of visitors with 27 flights operated by domestic airlines: Vietjet, Vietnam Airlines, and Bamboo Airways on the first day of the year.

Welcoming the first guests to the beach city for 2022, Nguyen Xuan Binh, deputy director of the Danang’s Department of Tourism, said “To ensure safety, we have guided tour companies and travel service providers to actively offer welcoming programs that ensure both pandemic prevention regulations and good services.”

According to the department, the city, which has world-class beaches, will welcome 284 domestic flights on the occasion of the new year from eight places namely Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Dalat, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Haiphong, Can Tho, Buon Me Thuot, among others.

The flights to Danang will soon rise to 630 flights from the aforementioned areas in the time to come.

It demonstrates how charming Danang is as a large number of visitors chose this city for their first destination in the new year.

In June 2022, Danang will host the 16th annual Routes Asia Development Forum 2022 (Routes Asia 2022) that is expected to bring cooperation opportunities to Danang and international aviation network and travel businesses.

For the 2022 plans, the Vietnam Airlines Group including Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, and VASCO are preparing for flights ahead of the Tet holiday (the Lunar New Year) which will come in a month. Accordingly, it will operate about 300 one-way flights per day to serve the rising demand.

Currently, the Vietnam Airlines Group is the main aviation transport force in Vietnam operating 100 global routes connecting 22 domestic destinations and 35 international landing places.
