Vietnam Airlines welcomes Cambodian tourists, officially marking the resumption of regular international flights

According to Vietnam Airlines, on January 1st 2022, at 6:45pm (VN time), the very first regular international flight to Vietnam since the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, safely landed at Tan Son Nhat Airport, HCMC. Vietnam Airlines flight number VN852 carried 121 tourists from Phnom Penh (Cambodia) to Ho Chi Minh City.

The flight is part of a plan to restore the regular international flights, which has been approved by the Government, with high safety factors, starting from 1st of January 2022. The main aim of this plan is to restore international transport; push up the economic and tourism recovery; support Vietnamese citizens returning home for the upcoming Tet holiday.

This flight officially marked the opening of the regular international airport, restoring the air connection between Vietnam and the world, opening the prospect of strong recovery in aviation and tourism after the pandemic.

Authorities in the aviation field urgently put all the effort into negotiating the resumption of regular flights at the beginning of January 2022 to countries and territories in the region.

Along with the flight number VN852, Vietnam Airlines is the first airline to perform following this plan. Passengers fully meet the regulation on Covid-19 test (with negative result), get vaccinated, and/or recover from Covid-19 before departure.

Vietnam Airlines maintains the application of epidemic prevention in all flights, such as disinfecting aircrafts, simplifying services to restrict multi-contact, etc. Passengers are monitored for health condition or medical quarantine according to regulations after landing.

Right after the flight between Vietnam and Cambodia, Vietnam Airlines’ upcoming regular international flights are between Vietnam and Japan on 5th of January 2022; between Vietnam and the United States on 9th of January 2022.

Vietnam Airlines has announced a plan to resume regular international flights to 15 countries, territories in the first half of 2022. The resumption of flight routes will be carried out in 2 periods of time. The first period starting from 1st of January 2022, Vietnam Airlines plans to operate round routes between Vietnam and the United States, Japan, Korea, Taiwan (China), Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia. This period is operated in short term within fortnite.

In the 2nd period, Vietnam Airlines plans to restore numbers of round routes between Vietnam and England, France, Germany, Russia, Australia, Hongkong (China), Malaysia. The plan will be adjusted upon approval of authorities and amid of pandemic.
