Renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty, cool-climate wines, fresh produce, vibrant events and quaint country charm, the towns and villages of the Southern Highlands are wonderful to explore any time of the year. Visit Bowral, Berrima, Moss Vale, Bundanoon, Burrawang and Mittagong to discover a Pie Trail, Australian cricket heritage, golf courses, spectacular waterfalls, and antique shopping. Below are a selection of some of the many experiences available for visitors planning a trip to this region.
  • View the spectacular Fitzroy Falls in Morton National Park from a lookout perched 100m above the falls
  • Eat your way around The Great Pie Trail and taste test pies from more than 28 outlets including the award-winning Gumnut Patisserie, Stones Patisserie & Robertson Pie Shop
  • Taste test local produce including cheese from Robertson Cheese Factory and Pecora Dairy. Join a truffle hunt from June to early August at Yelverton Truffles, home of Australia’s largest truffle
  • Visit The Australian Alpaca Centre to learn all about this remarkable animal and purchase items including jumpers, ponchos, scarves and vests
  • Explore the Bradman Museum & International Cricket Hall of Fame and learn about Sir Donald Bradman’s close association with the region. The Museum features numerous tributes to Bradman, an expanded range of displays including original and match used equipment, and interactive touch screens
  • Play a round of golf at any of the eight courses in the area, all with their own character and level of difficulty. Gibraltar Hotel Golf Course Bowral, Bowral Golf Club and Highlands Golf Club are just three to chose from.
  • Taste test cool-climate wines, enjoy lunch in the restaurant and high-tea in the Vines at Centennial Vineyards. Other cellar doors not to miss include Artemis Wines and Tertini Wines
  • Do a spot of antique shopping in Bowral at Dirty Jane’s Emporium and Lancelot Hill Antiques
  • Wander through the historic village of Berrima, which boasts a unique collection of unspoilt Georgian sandstone homes and historic public buildings from the 19th century
  • Attend the Tulip Time Festival in Corbett Gardens, Bowral from 12 – 24 September and view over 75,000 tulips and 15,000 annuals in bloom.
