Enjoy Spring at the Green Barley Field Festival!

Fans of the popular drama “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (2016)” will remember the scene where Dokkaebi (played by Gong Yoo) and Ji Eun-tak (played by Kim Go-eun) shared wedding vows under a romantic moonlight at a field of buckwheat.

This field, Borinara Hagwon Farm located in Gongeum-myeon, Gochang in Jeollabuk-do, will be the venue for the upcoming Gochang Green Barley Field Festival. With a slogan, “Koreans’ Motherland Gochang, Green Barley Field Loved by Dokkaebi!,” the festival will offer various entertainment such as music performances, art bus performances, tea giveaway event, event booths, and more for 23 days, beginning from April 22 until May 14.

This year’s Gochang Green Barley Field Festival will entertain visitors with walking paths decorated with story-based themes. Visitors will be able to enjoy stories like the Carp Pond, Tiger King’s Bamboo Forest, and Dokkaebi’s Forest unfold as they walk among the barley field. Experience activities will also be available like cypress crafting, beads crafting, cooking with barley, and more. Visitors can also try out various outfits, including traditional hanbok and school uniforms, and participate in other activity programs such as the barley field’s tourist wagon and slow post box.
