Why should teenagers get all the fun? Recycled Teenagers, Grey Nomads, Geriatric Gypsies and everyone in between are invited to come along to the BIG4 Great Lakes at Forster-Tuncurry during the 5-9 June and the 24-28 July, with two special week long events aimed at bringing a little fun to the mature traveller’s camping experience.
The BIG4 Great Lakes “Silver Schoolies” aims to offer an interactive and engaging experience for caravan and holiday park travellers. Park Manager, Margaret Shannon, said the concept followed on from the success of the weekly sausage sizzle. “We have such a great community feeling in the park, and this is evident at our regular weekly sausage sizzles. Guests have the opportunity to catch up with old friends and make new ones while having a bit of fun – just like the traditional “schoolies” weeks. We think it is really important to foster this caravan and camping spirit and so decided to expand the sausage sizzle into a week long celebration.”
While at the BIG4 Great Lakes Silver Schoolies, guests will have the opportunity to participate in a range of events including daily games and activities such as aqua aerobics, Bingo, pancake breakfasts, sausage sizzles, giveaways and various camping related demonstrations.
A highlight of the week is bound to be the “Toga Party”, where park guests will be encouraged to don a bed sheet Grecian style and dance away to a live musician. Live music will feature heavily, with musicians using Wallis Lake and the park’s modern Camp Kitchen as a backdrop during happy hour, while the anticipated “Market Street” will offer guests the opportunity to display and sell crafts, browse caravan and camping related product and mingle with BIG4 Great Lakes park staff.
Guests will receive a welcome park on arrival, and of course, are more than welcome to stay the days and weeks preceding and after the Silver Schoolies weeks. All BIG4 members receive a 10% capped discount, with special uncapped discounts available for those staying longer than seven days. Seniors discounts will also be extended to all those guests with valid senior’s cards.
