What's On at The Star This March

This month, The Star Sydney is serving up a stellar line up of fine food and free entertainment across the precinct, with something for the foodie, film buff and the footloose in all of us!

Visitors are invited to indulge in lavish pairings of champagne and caviar at The Star's signature restaurants, Sokyo and BLACK by ezard, celebrate Italy's infamous Carnevale festival at Osteria Balla Manfredi, or sample Singapore's famed street-food-style chow at the new Singapore Hawker style pop-up.

Meanwhile Sky Terrace offers a silent disco and movies under the stars and Rock Lily takes on salsa and welcomes hip-hop artist Che Fu.

Sky Terrace Roof Top Cinema presented by Rekorderlig | Thursday 17, 24 & 31 March

Moviegoers can bask in warm autumn evenings every Thursday in March while watching blockbuster classics at the Sky Terrace Rooftop Cinema presented by Rekorderlig. The Star's rooftop bar, Sky Terrace, takes advantage of the panoramic views over Sydney Harbour and the city skyline for a unique movie theatre experience. Settle in with cosy beanbags, grab a bite to eat from the Sky Terrace snack menu and enjoy a complimentary Rekorderlig Cider on arrival. Entry is free from 5:00pm and movies will be screened from 8pm. The schedule includes:

Easter Long Weekend at Sky Terrace and Rock Lily | Sunday 27 March

Make the most of the Easter long weekend at the Sky Terrace closing party atop The Star. Kick back and listen to live sets from some of Sydney's most talented DJs in a silent disco including Beth Yen, K-Note and Fear of Dawn. Entry is free from 2pm and DJ sets will commence at 7pm.

Music fans are spoilt for choice, as Rock Lily hosts 'Check Your Head' with guest hip-hop artist Che Fu, supported by Suite Az, DJ Troy and DJ D-Flat from 8pm. Che Fu hails from across the Tasman in New Zealand and has earned impressive accolades including being a founding member of funk rock band Supergroove. Entry is free.

I Love Salsa at Rock Lily | Thursday 10, 17 & 24 March

Turn up the heat with free salsa lessons and live music at The Star's music hub, Rock Lily on Thursdays until 24 March. From beginners to advanced, all dancers are welcome, and the hottest dance partners will win a $250 Star Gift Card each week. After burning the floor, why not explore the extensive beverage menu and taste some of the world's most sought-after tequilas. Entry is free.

Champagne and Caviar Month | Throughout March

Indulge in the ultimate culinary pairing of champagne and caviar at The Star's signature restaurants Sokyo and BLACK by ezard during March. Sample some of the world's best champagnes, including Dom Pérignon, Mumm and Moët & Chandon, expertly matched with the delicate flavours of famed Sterling and Yasa caviar. Pairing combinations include:

  • Two Pacific oysters, cucumber, Yasa caviar with a glass of Ruinart Blanc de Blancs $40, or Dom Pérignon $78
  • Scallop sashimi, Yasa caviar, honey yuzu lime dressing with a glass of Mumm $50

Celebrate Carnevale at Osteria Balla Manfredi | Throughout March

Settle into the chic Italian osteria-style restaurant to celebrate Italy's infamous Carnevale. Diners will be transported to Italy with an expertly designed menu of regional specialities typically eaten to recognise the month of festivities. Choose from soft shell crab with chilli mayonnaise ($20); risotto with oysters and caviar ($30) hailing from Venice; pork fillet 'in porchetta' ($34) and schiacciata alla fiorentina ($13) from the hills of Tuscany. Singapore Hawker Style Pop-up | March to May

Discover the taste of Singapore's best street food at The Star's newly opened Singapore Hawker Style pop-up restaurant. Open daily for lunch and dinner until May, chef Djohann Arneez has unveiled his unique twist on Singapore's renowned hawker-style chow with hints of Chinese, Malay and Indian flavours. Highlights include Master Djohann's chilli crab with wok-tossed Queensland spanner crab in signature chilli sauce and served with mantou buns, alongside exciting, lesser-known Singaporean favourites: Whampoa Road rojak, Bedok corner fried carrot cake and Old Airport Road hokkien prawn mee. The pop-up is located at Level G, The Star Café Court.
