Anything but the cruel sea…
Sydney based The Perfect Wave – the #1 surf travel website in the world, will take surf and music enthusiasts on two specially curated Surf Music in Paradise tours in 2016. Surf Music in Paradise fuses a love of the ocean, and music, in one unique offering.
Days will be spent on some of the world’s best surf breaks in Bali and the Maldives, and as the sun sets Australian music legends will perform live and beachside with the crashing waves as percussion.
The intimate gigs ensure that Perfect Wave guests enjoy direct interaction with the performers, and a front row experience.
Pete Murray in the Maldives – June 12-19, 2016
Pete Murray will perform, three intimate and exclusive gigs as part of the Surf Music in Paradise series, escaping Australia’s winter chills for the tropical warmth of the Maldives in June 2016.The unique performances will be held at the picturesque Kandooma Resort in the Maldives, catering for a maximum of 60 guests.
Pete will surf the Kandooma Right and nearby breaks by day, and then kick back at the sunset shows, combining his dual loves of surfing and music in the tropics.
Tex Perkins & Phil Jamieson in Bali – September 5-12, 2016
Tex Perkins (The Beasts Of Bourbon, The Cruel Sea, Tex, Don and Charlie, The Dark Horses) will join Phil Jamieson (Grinspoon) to perform five intimate gigs (Tex 3 and Phil 2) on the poolside lawns of the Hidden Valley Resort in Bali in September 2016.Located only 10 minutes easy access to all of the peninsular surf breaks – Uluwatu, Padang Padang, Impossibles, Bingin and Dreamland – The Perfect Wave will have their experienced surf guides provide daily transport for surf missions.
Partners and families looking for more than just a surf experience can be transported to shopping excursions, or take part in yoga on-site at the Hidden Valley Resort, or in Ubub.
With just 60 spots available, guests will receive autographed CDs and professional photography mementos with Tex and Phil.
Of the upcoming surfside gigs Tex Perkins says, “The Perfect Wave shows I did last year were my favourite of 2015. “Its surfing, its music, and its paradise. It’s brilliant. Come join me in Bali, and bring the family!”
The Perfect Wave Surf Music In Paradise concept kicked off in 2015 with the very first exclusive surf music shows featuring Californian surfer/musician Donavon Frankenreiter.
Of his time with The Perfect Wave in the Maldives Donavon Frankenreiter said, “My wife and two children had a blast at Kandooma. We met some great people, had plenty of quality surf and the gigs were too much fun in an amazing setting.”
Surf Music In Paradise is the combined brainchild of The Perfect Wave’s CEO Jamie Gray and Global Marketing Manager Ben Horvath. Ben said, “As a fan, attendee and sponsor of some of the early Big Day Out’s, Warped Tours and many other gigs when I was publishing Underground Surf Magazine, I know the super crowded, sweaty, over policed festival gigs these days aren’t really a fun option for over 25s. It’s where the idea of combining a love of music and surfing in a special week in paradise came from. The upcoming trips provide an incredible opportunity for fans to be part of an intimate performance.”
Numbers for all The Perfect Wave Surf Music In Paradise gigs are capped to ensure they are intimate and a real value for money, once in a lifetime experience.
