Melbourne Parkview Hotel - a great place to stay!

Melbourne Parkview Hotel
The Melbourne Parkview Hotel is a well positioned hotel on St Kilda Road, with trams close by for a quick ride into the Melbourne CBD, the Arts Centre and the sporting facilities in the MCG area.

The Melbourne Parkview Hotel has a wide variety of rooms and suites for guests to select, including Guest RoomDeluxe RoomTwin RoomTriple RoomFamily RoomParkview SuitePresidential Suite.

On my recent stay at the Melbourne Parkview Hotel I stayed in  my very well appointed and clean guest room that had opening windows for fresh air. I had a great night's sleep on the large comfortable bed that had a soft feather overlay on the mattress There was even a pillow menu, however I chose one of the ones that were provided on the bed. I relaxed in the armchair, watched the LCD TV and used the complimentary WiFi internet access.

Guest Room, Melbourne Parkview Hotel
The hotel rooms have a great layout with a separate dressing & tea and coffee making area away from the bedroom. They have a decent selection of teas in the room which is nice.

The modern bathroom with its large walk in shower with lots of pressure and large mirror over the vanity basin. Good bathroom amenities are provided.

Delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners are served in Woods Restaurant, Café, Bar & Lounge on the ground floor. The contemporary menu offers some new and exciting dishes along with some old favourites.

Breakfast - Woods Restaurant
I enjoyed my buffet breakfast each morning in Woods Restaurant. There was a good selection of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, hot dishes, breads and pastries, juice and hot drinks. My favourite was the pancake maker which were made fresh pancakes with the simple press of a button. The daily newspapers were available to read whilst eating. The waiting staff were friendly as they moved around clearing the tables.

Spa - Melbourne Parkview Hotel
It was good to use the spa pool, plunge pool, sauna, and small gym on 9th floor with amazing views over looking some of city scape. They even have laundry facilities on the 9th floor so you can wash your clothes while you relax in the pool.

I found all the staff I met, whether at reception, cleaning or breakfast, were very polite and friendly. They made my stay at the Melbourne Parkview Hotel a very pleasant experience.

The conference & events centre on the first floor can host a range functions, from a small meeting to a product launch, dinner, wedding or residential conference. There are ten rooms to choose from. Woods Café, Bar & Restaurant can cater for birthdays, Christmas parties, reunion lunches, product launches and after work drinks. Catering can also be done at the Mezz on mezzanine level of the hotel, or in the large marquee. Further information can be obtained by phoning (03) 9924 8145 or emailing events.pv@viewhotels.com.au

The Melbourne Parkview Hotel has great location with ample parking, and reasonably priced. There is a taxi rank outside the entrance to the hotel and a tram stop nearby. If I had more time I would have enjoyed walking into the city or to St Kilda beach, or riding one of the bicycles around Lake Albert that are free of charge for guests.

(If you are heading up to Sydney the ideal place to stay is the sister North Sydney Harbourview Hotel, which can be read about in this article in The Holiday and Travel Magazine .)
