The annual event will see bands, a float parade and plenty of family entertainment take over Exmouth in Western Australia between May 21 to 24.
Special discounts on whale shark swims will be available on Sunday May 24, allowing visitors a great opportunity to swim with the world's largest fish.
Whale sharks visit Ningaloo Reef annually from March until August, allowing visitors the opportunity to have a face-to-fin encounter with the gentle giant – which can grow up to 18 metres in length.
The Ningaloo Whaleshark Festival highlights the community’s relationship with the yearly visitation of the whale shark.
The festival’s objective is to bring together government departments, business, industries and community members to strengthen their relationships whilst enhancing the education and celebration of the Whale Shark and its annual visit to Ningaloo.
The Whaleshark Festival is for all ages and is possibly the only event in honour of that unique, spectacular creature, the whale shark which is recognised both nationally and internationally.
The Ningaloo Whale Shark Festival is on again in 2015, from Thursday May 21 to Sunday May 24. The festival will begin with a family movie night at Exmouth’s Federation Park, then dress up and enjoy Friday night’s Festival Gala at the Novotel Ningaloo Resort.
On Saturday join in the fun run with breakfast to kick off Festival Day at Talanjee Oval. There will be live entertainment, activities, float parade and food stalls throughout the day. This is a FREE event.
The festival headline musical actwill play on Saturday night at Grace’s Tavern. Supporting acts will also be bringing the noise.
The festival continues on Sunday with whale shark tours and a family fun filled afternoon of activities and live entertainment at the Exmouth Yacht Club, Town Beach. Solo artist, James Abberley will be performing.
