On May 17th, in the central city of Vinh, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with Nghe An provincial People’s Committee to open the cultural festival of ethnic minority groups in central Viet Nam.
The event aimed to glorify, preserve and promote cultural identities of ethnic minority groups in central Viet Nam, contributing to promoting economy, taking care for local people’s spiritual and material life; and educate patriotic tradition and consolidate the national great unity bloc.
Cultural products, souvenirs, traditional foods and tourist products of localities were on display during the festival.
There were also folklore games and performances on special cultural identities of ethnic minority groups.
The festival drew the participation of nearly 350 folklore artisans and mass actors and actresses from eight central provinces, including Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Binh Thuan.
It ran until the afternoon of May 19th.
