IFEMA Conventions and Congresses will be present at FITUR 2015, where it will participate with its own stand through which it will promote the spaces and infrastructures of this business unit for the staging of all types of events. IFEMA’s huge congress-staging capacity was again demonstrated in 2014, when it organised 10 congresses, 8 of them global and European in scope, which attracted more than 150,000 professionals from across the world to Madrid. Among them was the Congress of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), which brought together 19,000 attendees; and the ATM Air Traffic Control World Conference, which attracted 9,000.
The last four-month period of 2014 was especially active, as during that time the IFEMA Conventions and Congresses Centre has hosted five important conferences: the 16th World Congress of the World Psychiatric Association (WPA); the already mentioned Congress of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO); the 13th World Congress of the Human Proteome Organization (HUPO); the 32nd Annual International No-Dig Conference & Exhibition (ISTT NO-DIG); and the 10th Congress of the Spanish Palliative Care Society (SECPAL). Other outstanding events are already scheduled for 2015, such as the CPHI Worldwide, which will host 30,000 attendees, and the EAU European Association of Urology, which will attract 16,000.
In the business tourism segment, IFEMA is the main catalyst owing to the important activities it undertakes throughout the year, both in trade shows and in congresses, with an estimated impact in the Madrid Region of 2 billion euros. It annually concentrates the staging of around 500 events, which mobilise more than 2.6 million visitors from around the world, and generates important revenue for Madrid. 2014 is being especially relevant for IFEMA’s Congresses and Conventions area, with growing international weight that has led it to make a decided contribution to Madrid’s 2nd place position in the ICCA world ranking of congress cities after Paris and ahead of Vienna, Barcelona and Berlin.
The available space offered by IFEMA for MICE events encompasses virtually the entire Feria de Madrid site. A total of 12 halls, representing an indoor exhibition surface area of 200,000 square metres; two Convention Centres situated at the two entrances to the site, together with its two Auditoriums, with seating capacity for 1,100 and 600 persons respectively, plus 90 rooms with differing capacities for all types of meetings.
IFEMA Conventions and Congresses is issuing an invitation to visit its stand at FITUR (Hall 8, stand 8 A 13) to learn about the spaces it offers for events of every kind (Conventions, Product Presentations, Congresses, Sports Events).
