Hangzhou Newest Chinese City to Offer 72-hour Visa-free Stays

Hangzhou, the capital of eastern China’s Zhejiang province, is the latest city to offer the 72-hour visa-free policy.

Under the policy, travelers from the United States, Canada and 49 other countries are able to enter select Chinese cities for up to 72 hours without a visa, as long as they have a booked plane ticket to a third country or region within the 72-hour time period.

Hangzhou is the 11th city to adopt this policy, joining Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Kunming, Chongqing, Shenyang, Dalian, Guilin and Xi’an. China continues to expand this policy to different locations throughout the country in order to bolster tourism to the destination.
