Da Nang attracts visitors with activities to welcome New Year 2015

(TITC) - Welcoming New Year 2015, Da Nang City will organize many culture, art and sports activities to serve local people and visitors.

The most special activity is “I love Da Nang – Welcome New Year 2015” program held at 21h00 of 31 December 2014 in 29/3 Square. Attending the program, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a monumental music program, with the highlight is countdown to welcome New Year 2015.

Besides, many other attractive activities also take place such as showing films in Le Do Cinema (Hai Chau District), remote communes, armed units, schools in the city (from 24 December 2014 to 2 January 2015); street music program in Bach Dang Street (in the evening of 30 December 2014); art program on Lunar New Year's Eve in the east bank of Han River Bridge (18 February 2015); Arts Talent Contest with the theme “Spring and Youth” at Spring Flower Festival in 29/3 Park (on the 6th day of the first lunar month or 24 February 2015); photo exhibition with the theme “Da Nang – New Height” in Da Nang Museum…

In addition, from now to the end of February 2015, in districts of Da Nang City, many specific festivals will be organized such as: Cau Ngu Festival, Tuy Loan Village Communal House Festival, Bo Ban Village Communal House Festival; Arts Talent Contest of Hoa Vang District; Yen River bai choi singing… and a lot of traditional sports activities (contests of table-tennis, football, chess…)

On this occasion, many amusement sites (Ba Na Hills Resort, Son Tra Peninsula, Asia Park...) and also hotels, trade centres in the city are decorated splendidly to serve local people and visitors. In particular, most 4 and 5-star hotels and resorts (Furama Danang, Crowne Plaza Danang, Hyatt Regency Danang Resort & Spa...) will hold parties to welcome New Year in the evening of 31 December 2014. The other hotels also offer many promotional packages to attract tourists.

With diversified activities, Da Nang City is expected to welcome more than 105,500 tourist arrivals at the end of 2014, an increase of 32% compared to the same period last year. Of which, international tourists is about 59,800 arrivals, up 30% over the same period; domestic tourists is estimated 45,700 trips, increase 34.5% compared with the same period.
