Exploiting occupations such as weaving brocade, adjusting gongs, beating gongs, and participating in agricultural production activities is the direction that Kon Tum province is doing for community tourism villages serving tourists. Although newly formed, Kon Ko Tu tourist village in Dak Ro Wa commune, Kon Tum city (Kon Tum province) is gradually becoming familiar to tourists thanks to these things. The village's tourism specialties are learning about traditional cultural festivals, carving wooden statues, weaving brocades, taking a canoeing boat ride on the Dak Bla River, visiting village architecture, communal houses, chapels, and cultural exchanges of gongs. Tourism products here include brocade weaving and brocade-related fashion items such as bags, dresses, scarves, etc.

Mr. Dao Van Hau - Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Ro Wa commune, Kon Tum city said, "The commune determines that the development of community tourism and rural tourism is a spearhead economic sector and a key task of the locality. In the past time, when the community tourism village of Kon Ko Tu was established, the number of visitors increased, and the income of the people also increased. Thanks to this revenue, people have the conditions to buy equipment for the homestay business.”

In addition, Mr. Hau also added that the value of community-based tourism brings "community tourism not only to improve people's income, but also to contribute to preserving traditional cultural values ​​of the locality such as gongs, brocade weaving, and cooking ge wine".

Recently, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee also issued plan No. 6195/KH-UBND dated 18/07/2023 to promote rural tourism associated with new rural construction. By 2025, Lam Dong will develop and standardize rural tourism destinations and products. To build and develop from 1-2 recognized rural tourist spots associated with advantages in agriculture, culture, craft villages and ecological environment by 2025. 50% of rural tourism service business establishments are recognized as meeting tourist service standards. Promote rural tourism development in association with digital transformation, strive for 100% of rural tourist spots to be introduced and promoted. Half of the rural tourist attractions apply electronic transactions in tourism activities.

In addition, the owners of establishments, those serving the type of rural tourism are trained over 70%. These are specific goals that will bring a new vitality to the Central Highlands countryside through tourism.

Thanks to positive changes, tourism in the provinces has shown signs of increasing. Lam Dong said that since the beginning of the year, the locality has welcomed more than 4.5 million visitors to visit and relax, reaching over 53 percent of the plan and increasing by more than 21 percent over the same period in 2022. In which, about 227 thousand international visitors.

Thanks to the development of homestay accommodation in ethnic minority villages, it has brought a new attraction to tourism in Buon Ma Thuot City (Dak Lak). In the first 6 months of the year, the total number of visitors to the city was about 520,000. In which, about 3,560 international visitors, more than 516,440 domestic tourists, total estimated revenue of 412 billion VND.

Currently, 5 provinces of the Central Highlands have focused on promoting the development of community-based tourism, rural tourism associated with building new countryside. In addition to public investment capital, localities also promote activities to invite investment and socialize tourism models. Culture, cuisine, traditional craft villages are the strengths that the provinces focus on exploiting to serve tourists. In addition, the work of preserving and developing ethnic minority culture is also properly implemented. Thanks to that, rural tourism in the Central Highlands has its own charm.
