“This year’s Australia Day program will champion the vibrant and diverse state of NSW, based on the theme ‘Everyone, every story’, with a range of events across the state inviting people to unite, reflect and share what it means to be Australian,” Mr Williams said.
Yothu Yindi and The Treaty Project and Kate Ceberano were announced as part of a star-studded and action-packed program of events.
Australia Day in Sydney begins at sunrise with the WulgulOra Indigenous Morning Ceremony at Barangaroo Reserve with Christine Anu and her daughter singing Kulba Yaday, as Aboriginal and Australian flags are raised on Sydney Harbour Bridge.
The rest of the exciting program includes the 2019 Australia Day address by renowned social researcher and author Hugh Mackay AO, a free morning Wiggles concert at Darling Harbour’s Summer Playground, and the Sydney Harbour program supported by P&O Cruises, including the iconic Ferrython, Tug & Yacht Ballet and a 21-gun Salute to Australia.
The finale of the unforgettable day is Australia Day Live where some of the country’s top artists will perform, along with amazing fireworks.
