On 17 January 2019, the 22nd Meeting of ASEAN Tourism Ministers was held in Ha Long, Quang Ninh, in the framework of ASEAN Tourism Forum 2019.
The meeting took place under the chairmanship of Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Viet Nam Nguyen Ngoc Thien and Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism of Brunei, with the presence of ASEAN Tourism Ministers and leaders of ASEAN NTOs and partners countries, international organizations, and domestic and international press agencies.
At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien highly valued tourism development potential of ASEAN, and also mentioned difficulties and challenges of ASEAN tourism. He said that ASEAN NTOs should strengthen closer coordination in all fields to improve service quality and facilitate travel. He called the relevant parties to discuss solutions to remove barriers, enhance cooperation in developing ASEAN tourism.
The meeting reviewed outcomes of the 33rd ASEAN Summit, activities for development of ASEAN tourism in 2018 and 2019 from partners, including centers of ASEAN – China, Japan, Rok; ASEAN Tourism Association (ASEANTA), ASEAN Tourism Research Association (ATRA)…
