Across The Pond Craft Cocktail Bar in Central Phoenix Now OpenAcross The Pond, a craft cocktail bar from Born & Raised Hospitality is now open in Central Phoenix. The new bar is located inside the old Central Wine space just across the walkway from the Clever Koi's Phoenix location. Across The Pond offers a compact, ever-changing menu of eight different cocktails, plus an extensive selection of Japanese whisky served in the traditional Japanese style, craft beer and wine, all paired with a menu of fresh hand-rolled sushi. Specializing in traditional Japanese sushi, Across The Pond will serve up an omakase (or chef's choice) menu of nigiri and sashimi dishes. The bar is open Wednesday through Saturday from 4:00 pm to midnight.
Nobu Restaurant Coming to Scottsdale Fashion Square
Scottsdale Fashion Square, part of the Macerich portfolio, announced that Nobu will open it's first-ever Arizona restaurant at the retail destination. The new Nobu Scottsdale will be located just outside Scottsdale Fashion Square's set-apart luxury wing anchored by Neiman Marcus. Nobu will feature signatures such as black cod with miso, yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño and inventive new dishes created especially for the Scottsdale location. The opening date and design details will be announce soon.
Wilhelm Family Vineyards New Tasting Room in Tucson Now Open
The new Wilhelm Family Vineyards tasting room – Tasting & Tapas at Ventana is now open. The new tasting room is located at 5425 North Kolb Road at the intersection of North Kolb and Sunrise in North Tucson – Ventana Plaza. Hours of operation are Monday – Wednesday 11:00 am to 7:00 pm and Thursday – Saturday 11:00 am to 9:00 pm. The Wilhelm Family estate vineyard located in the Sonoita/Elgin area in Southern Arizona, is home to many Spanish and French varietals. It's high density planting of near 1200 vines per acre is home to Tempranillo, Garnacha, Verdejo, Graciano, Tannat, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Tours and tastings at the Sonoita Tasting Room are available by reservation for $45 per person.

New Cambria Hotel Opening in Downtown Phoenix in 2019A brand-new Cambria hotel will open in downtown Phoenix's Roosevelt Row Arts District. The seven-story building will include 127 rooms, a rooftop pool and bar, along with a restaurant and meeting space. The hotel, part of the Choice Hotel chain, is scheduled to open in 2019 near Margaret T. Hance Park at the corner of Portland and Third Street. In addition to the ground floor café and restaurant, the property will also incorporate art to reflect the surrounding arts district, including outdoor murals and sculptures.

Centennial Celebrations in 2019
Grand Canyon Centennial, Grand Canyon National ParkThe Grand Canyon celebrates 100 years of its designation as a national park. The Centennial year will feature virtual and in-park events throughout 2019 at the South Rim, North Rim, Desert View, Inner Canyon, and surrounding gateway communities. The Grand Canyon's Founders Day celebration on February 26, 2019 will kick off with a concert by the Flagstaff and Grand Canyon school choirs, cultural demonstrators, and cake at the Historic Village, Visitor Center and Desert View. The visitor center will have a birthday card to sign and share favorite Grand Canyon memories. Following the park's birthday, special evening program speakers will talk about the important relationship between Grand Canyon and the park's 11 traditionally associated tribes.
The centennial summerfest and star party will take place on June 22-29, 2019. During the day, the centennial summerfest will bring together park partners to highlight Arizona. The star party, at night, will celebrate the Grand Canyon National Park designation as an International Dark Sky park. Visitors on the South Rim will learn about dark skies with the Tucson Amateur Astronomy Association and on the North Rim with the Saguaro Astronomy Club of Phoenix.
Hotel Congress, Tucson
The hotel was established in 1919, but while digging up historical facts about Hotel Congress, the building was constructed in 1918 with a soft opening in November of that year. The celebrations will continue through 2019 with events toasting the hotel's dedication to serving the Tucson community.
Semicentennial Celebrations in 2019
Lunar Legacy, FlagstaffOn July 20th, 1969, Neil Armstrong became the first person to set foot on the moon. All astronauts who walked on the Moon—including Neil Armstrong, Alan Shepard, and Buzz Aldrin—completed their training in Flagstaff, as well as at several other locations in northern Arizona. After 50 years, it's time to celebrate Flagstaff's scientific role in the Apollo Moon Missions of 1969.
Desert Caballeros Western Museum, Wickenburg
In 2019, The Desert Caballeros Western Museum (DCWM) will celebrate 50 years since opening its doors to the public on May 9, 1969. Originally founded by members of the Wickenburg community to preserve the history of the town, five decades of continued support from locals and visitors alike has transformed the Museum into a nationally celebrated center for Western art and history.
