ANAHEIM CONVENTION CENTER OFFICIALLY OPENS NEW ACC NORTH BUILDING

It all started back in 1960 when a group of 61 Anaheim business leaders organized to determine what they could do to make the city a year-round tourist destination. Calling themselves the Anaheim Visitor and Convention Bureau (now Visit Anaheim), their goal was to capitalize on Disneyland's success and their solution was to build a convention center.

The Anaheim Convention Center (ACC) opened July 12, 1967 at a cost of $15 million and celebrates its 50-year anniversary this year. Originally, the center featured 400,000 square feet, but now with the latest addition of ACC North, the convention center joins the elusive “one-million-square-foot-club.”

Let's take a trip down memoy lane of the last 50 years.
