ANAHEIM CHEESEBURGERS WORTH CELEBRATING

Ruby’s
“Cheeseburger in paradise, heaven on earth with an onion slice. Not too particular, not too precise. I'm just a cheeseburger in paradise.” It’s hard to hear those lyrics and not sing along to Jimmy Buffet’s “Cheeseburger in Paradise.” But where is this heaven on earth with an onion slice? I’m fairly certain he’s singing about Anaheim.

Anaheim offers a cheeseburger lover a slice of paradise, one quarter pound at a time. Check out some of the best the city has to offer.

Ruby’s

Shooby dooby on down to Ruby’s for an American favorite. You can’t go wrong with one of Ruby’s classic burgers served with a chocolate malt and side of frings. No roller skates are required to enjoy one of Ruby’s Extraordinary Burgers like the Sriracha Burger. The hot & spicy cheeseburger comes topped with pepper jack cheese, jalapenos, thick-cut bacon, and Sriracha mayo.

In-N-Out Burger

First stop after picking up out-of-state friends at the airport? In-N-Out! There’s something special in the mystery sauce, with a recipe unchanged since 1948. The 100% American beef patties perfectly stack upon old-fashioned, slow-rising sponge dough buns. Make it a double-double for an extra-extra yummy National Cheeseburger day.

House of Blues

Looking for a cheeseburger that will feed your soul? Try the House of Blues burger selections. My pick: the BBQ Bacon Burger. Topped with cheddar cheese, Applewood-smoked bacon, crispy jalapenos, sautéed bourbon onions and Memphis BBQ sauce.

Umami Burger

Umami Burger
Sweet, salty, sour, bitter -- all the flavors seem fantastic. That is until you try umami. The bold flavors of Umami Burgers’ handcrafted burgers add on a 5th dimension of flavor with upscale tastes you won’t want to miss. Try the signature Umami Burger with a parmesan frico, shiitake mushrooms, roasted tomato, caramelized onions and unique Umami ketchup.

Slater’s 50/50

50% ground beef, 50% ground bacon -- 100% amazing. Slater’s 50/50 is the original creator of the 50/50 burger. Try what put them on the map in Anaheim Hills and across the nation, the Original 50/50 with the beef/bacon blend, pepper jack cheese, sunny side up egg, avocado mash and chipotle adobo mayo on a brioche bun. Or put on your chef’s hat and design their own cheeseburgers with the “Design It” menu.

Pour Vida

At Pour Vida’s Latin Flavor, Chef Jimmy reminds us that “tacos are cheaper than therapy.” The handcrafted tacos and fresh pressed juices do lift the spirits of all who come to enjoy the expanded outdoor spaces. Try the Cheeseburger Taco with Kobe ground beef, caramelized onion, shredded iceberg, Thousand Island dressing, roma tomatoes and shredded cheddar. Don’t forget the nacho fries to share (or keep for yourself).

The Kroft

Taking comfort food to another level, you won’t want to skip The Kroft on National Cheeseburger Day. Head to the Packing House for a Canadian specialty, the poutine. The Kroft serves theirs as Cheeseburger fries topped with 6 ounces of beef, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, toasted sesame and their secret sauce. All the things you love about a cheeseburger and fries in one bite.

Healthy Junk

Healthy Junk
Cheeseburgers are for everyone here in Anaheim, vegetarians included. Carnivores and vegans alike can sink their teeth into the Anaheim Chili-Pepper Burger at Healthy Junk on Center Street. The faux patty is topped with a crispy Anaheim chili, vegan cheddar cheese and mayo on a focaccia bun.

Whether you prefer your cheeseburger on a bun, atop fries, or in a taco shell, Anaheim has you covered on National Cheeseburger Day.
