FREE HIGH-SPEED WIFI EXPANDED AND IMPROVED ON THE SUNSHINE COAST

Free WiFi is now available on Mooloolaba beach and once the expansion is complete it is expected that around 2,000 users could connect at once.

This capacity will, to some extent, vary depending on the types of devices people connect and the council will monitor the usage to evaluate and improve where possible.

AUSTRALIAN SURF LIFE SAVINGS CHAMPIONSHIPS

For the first time since 1980, the iconic Australian Surf Life Saving Championships event is returning to the Sunshine Coast from 16–24 April at Alexandra Headland, Maroochydore and Mooloolaba. Across 9 days, over 7000 Surf Life Savers from 313 surf clubs will compete in over 400 events from Youth, Open and Masters categories. With plenty of excitement and free activities on offer, come and be part of the action as the Aussies chase the sun back to the 80s.
