New Orleans Music to Reach a Worldwide Audience

New Orleans Media Entertainment, parent company of the TV show New Orleans Live announced today that the show will now be available anywhere in the world, anytime, for free. Launched in November 2015 on WUPL MyNetwork TV-54 in New Orleans and worldwide on Vimeo on Demand's subscription service, New Orleans Live has since added two additional markets to its broadcast television footprint.

“Our goal from the beginning was to give New Orleans musical artists the largest possible stage to display their amazing talent,” said Ernest Collins, Creator and Executive Producer of New Orleans Live. “We're now making the show available via YouTube, the world's largest video sharing service for FREE! This will give us an exponential increase in the number of people viewing New Orleans Live performances and undoubtedly provide very positive benefits for our musicians.”

Along with the announcement of access to live concerts, anytime, anywhere in the world, producers of New Orleans Live are also unveiling plans for season 2 of the show. In the mix of artists to be featured on season 2 will be Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews, who in recent times completed the trifecta of appearances at the White House, Super Bowl and NBA All Star. Additional guests include New Orleans Bounce Queen Big Freedia, who has a nationally syndicated tv show and who's lyrics were sampled in Beyonce's Formation video.

“As our hospitality industry continues to grow we have to develop new strategies to reach a global audience of potential new visitors to New Orleans,” said Stephen Perry, President of the Metropolitan New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau. “A program like New Orleans Live promotes the essence of the New Orleans experience.”

Collins cites the success of shows like Austin City Limits as an example of the worldwide branding and promotion he hopes to accomplish with New Orleans Live. “Austin City Limits is huge,” said Collins, “but the vision for this show is bigger. New Orleans is already an internationally known brand.”

Coming off the success of New Orleans Live's first season, social media routinely buzzes leading up to the weekend television broadcasts. Multiple posts promote upcoming artists like Tonya Boyd-Cannon whose “The Voice” appearance initially put her on New Orleans Live's radar. “The show is so amazing the way they use tv, the internet and social media to promote artists. It really is the future of entertainment,” said Boyd-Cannon.

The global sponsorship and branding industry has also taken notice of the show's innovative approaches by inviting New Orleans Live to its IEG 2016 Conference to lead a panel discussion titled,“New Channels & Strategies to Distribute and Monetize Music Programs.” IEG is the global marketplace for entertainment & sports property rights holders and sponsors.
