Holiday rental website reveals the 2016 summer holiday hotspots and more

Australia’s number one holiday rental website, Stayz has revealed (and it comes as no surprise) that Aussies are seeking sand between their toes when it comes to summer holidays, with eight out of the top ten getaway destinations located by the sea1.

Surfers Paradise, Byron Bay, Sydney, Broadbeach, Cowes, Jervis Bay, Margaret River and Torquay have been revealed as the most popular summer destinations across the country. More than half of the top ten hotspots were located on the east coast of Australia1.

Interestingly, the Stayz research has also revealed that Aussies do not need a two-week getaway for the ideal summer holiday. With less time to spend on extended trips, people are taking shorter holidays more often, with the average summer stay just 5.5 nights[1].

Anton Stanish, General Manager, Stayz said, “If you’re planning a summer getaway, booking sooner rather than later is your best bet. Last year we received over 7.2 million1 rental enquiries over the summer period alone, spiking a massive 77%1 in comparison to non-peak seasons. With more people taking shorter and more frequent breaks, you need to get in quick this summer.
