LOVE IS IN THE AIR

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Darling Harbour's Month of Love returned this week for a second consecutive year of celebrating love in all its forms.

Presented by Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority and the Darling Harbour Alliance, the 2015 program is even bigger and better with many free activities including Loved Up Fireworks every Friday and Saturday night and Row Your Way to Romance with row boats built for two surrounded by the twinkling lights of floating love hearts on the bay.

A new feature of the program is The Lanterns of Love (also part of the Chinese Lantern Festival), which will see hand-written messages of love float down the Urban Stream at Darling Harbour.
Nearby the Pash n’ Dash visual activation is a great place for a smooch to remember and you can take a cheeky snap at the Love is in the Air – Framed Fotobooths at Pyrmont Bridge and Cockle Bay Wharf on Valentine’s Day.

Restaurants and cafes are offering special deals, loved-up cocktails and dreamy desserts for visitors to eat their hearts out. Picnics can also be enjoyed on heart-shaped picnic rugs at DarlingQuarter during Tickle Me Pink, the free outdoor cinema with screenings every Thursday to Sunday evening.

Romance is in the air with the luminous light display at Darling Quarter, the huge pulsating Heartbeats on the Bridge and light-filled Love is in the Air double-hearts suspended from the overpass at Palm Grove.

Mardi Gras Me!, from 20 February, will feature life-size photo boards with fun face cut-outs located across Darling Harbour and a Drag and Drop line-up of talented drag queen performers at their most fabulous guaranteed to entertain at Palm Grove and Harbourside Shopping Centre, every Tuesday to Thursday from 24 February.

Darling Harbour will echo with the sound of high heels when the Little Black Dress Run kicks-off on 1 March to raise funds for Camp Goodtime, which supports kids and their families living with HIV/ AIDS.

Live entertainment and interactive games for ages five and older will be offered at the Darling! Family Fun Picnic, at Darling Quarter on Sunday 1 March.

Finally, Wow Me 2015 Are You Ready for Freddie will build on the success of last year's Cher the Love event. Wow Me 2015 on Pyrmont Bridge will feature the music of Queen with moustached, harlequined dancers in a not-to-be-missed big-time tribute to the one and only Freddie Mercury.

The Month of Love runs until 7 March.
