Korea Tourism Organization in association with Korean ski resorts, ice and snow festival organizers and local tourist attractions have released a special 'Winter in Korea' discount coupon booklet with savings of up to 50% off.
Korea's ski season runs from mid-December to mid-March with the best ski months being January and February when the greatest snowfalls occur. Korea will host the 2018 Winter Olympics so many of the ski resorts are upgrading their accommodation etc. in preparation.
But the time to go is right now especially with the discounts on offer this coming ski season. Yongypong Resort and Dragon Valley Hotel is one of the most popular resorts with Australian skiers and is offering 10% off the room rate as well as 30% off ski gondola and ski equipment rental and 50% off its popular Peak
Island Water Park which the children will love.
Other offers include resorts in Gangwon Province on the east coast such as Elysian Ganchon, Alpensia, Phoenix Park, O2 Resort, Vivaldi Park and Welli Hilli Park. Other resorts closer to the capital city of Seoul are Jisan Forest Resort just 40 minutes away and Konjiam Resort. All resorts are offering discounts for either accommodation, ski rental, lift tickets etc. from 10-50% off.
During the ski season several Fun Ski Festivals take place where foreign skiers can join in the fun and compete against others from around the world. Major snow and ice festivals take place including ice-fishing and ice-carving exhibitions.
Most skiers from Australia will at least overnight in Seoul prior to visiting the ski resorts. Discount coupons are also being offered for major theatre performances in Seoul such as 20% off MISO traditional Korean performance and major theme parks like Everland and Lotte World in Seoul where you can obtain 20% off the admission cost.
The Benikea Chain is offering four star quality hotels in Seoul at 10% discount off the room charge, so skiers who no doubt will wish to spend some time in Seoul prior or after skiing Korea can take advantage of these special offers.
