Australia's iconic annual event, the Woodford Folk Festival, held in Queensland's Sunshine Coast hinterland, just one hour's drive north of Brisbane, is back for its 28th year with their most ambitious programme ever. "Woodford Folk Festival has a magical atmosphere. Everywhere you turn there is something surprising, interesting or delicious! The music, art and audience are remarkably diverse and this truly makes for a festival experience like no other." - Wally De Backer (Gotye/The Basics)

Not to be outdone, The Children's Festival has a programme that children can jump into headfirst. Everything from cooking workshops with Kids Kitchen Chaos, puppet theatre with The Ladybug Express and the wacky and wonderful songs of Gerry Paul & The Elephant Tree Band. With over 50 acts at the Children's Festival alone, each day will provide a new adventure for the kids and they'll never want to leave.

Organisers at Woodford praise their audience. "Every year I perform the ritual of driving around the campsite after everyone has gone home. There isn't a skerrick of rubbish - its 100% clean. It's very moving. On New Year's Eve we ring the village bell at 11.30 pm and 22, 000 people in 14 licensed bars, 12 packed venues and in streets teeming with energy come to a complete halt. They light a candle in utter silence. The crickets and frogs never seem so loud. We watch grown men cry. We so love our patrons - they really make the festival what it is" said Festival Director Bill Hauritz, "they are the real stars".

So have a Shampine at the Pineapple Lounge, grab a bite to eat at one of over 40 eateries, or jump aboard the Mystery Bus. Whoever you are, whatever you're looking for, you'll find it at the Woodford Folk Festival.
