The Countdown to Summer on Norfolk Island

Beautiful weather, stunning beaches, action-packed adventures, countless indoor and outdoor dining experiences, healthy lifestyle exercising and fascinating historical tours await visitors of all ages on Norfolk Island as Summer approaches at this popular holiday destination for Australians.

Bookings for Norfolk Island are up this year with Australians taking advantage of accommodation and airline specials as well as all of the benefits available through the duty-free options, plus enhancements and additions to the variety of accommodation and dining offerings and the appeal of the relaxed, safe, friendly environment that prevails throughout the island.

Norfolk Island is long-regarded as a wonderful place to holiday with family and friends, escape with a loved one, savour magnificent local beef, fish, fruits, cheeses and vegetables, visit the only winery, go swimming, snorkelling, surfing, deep sea fishing, golfing and horse riding, explore arts, crafts and home produce markets, head out on glass bottom boat tours and ocean trips to Phillip Island, check into the Baunti Kids Club, feed wandering geese and enjoy attractions including Cyclorama and the World of Norfolk Exhibit.

Leading up to Christmas, guests can also participate in fun events and sports challenges in November and December including Norfolk Island's Governor's Cup Golf (5 - 7 November), Thanksgiving Day Celebrations (27 November), Jazz Festival (1 -5 December), Pistol Championships (7-12 December), Christmas Pageant (19 December) and FMX Trans-Tasman Challenge (20 December).

Norfolk Island Tourism General Manager, Glen Buffett said "late Spring into Summer presents a great opportunity for visitors to take in even more of our beautiful landscape and all that is on offer at our beaches and in the island's waters".

"It is at this time of the year that everything really comes alive during warmer days and longer balmy nights - and all is within easy reach, just over 2 ½ hours from Australia's mainland," Mr Buffett said.
