All men are welcome to come along and join in any of the activities at the Men's Shed, or bring along their own project to work on. The day starts 9am and continues through till mid afternoon. The day includes morning tea and a BBQ lunch.
The Muswellbrook Men’s Shed was formed 7th September 2012 under the auspice of Upper Hunter Community Services Inc.
The mission of The Muswellbrook Men’s Shed is to advance the health and well-being of its members by providing a safe and happy environment where men can pursue hobbies, pastimes and interests. They can also learn new skills as well as practise and pass on old skills, and at the same time promote their own health and well-being. By their efforts, they will benefit their families, their friends, The Shed and their community. There is also the opportunity to promote the mentoring of younger men.
The Muswellbrook Men’s Shed is still in its infancy with organic growth so far. However, a constant stream of jobs has been coming in. Many who use their services will have a trade/barter to negotiate. A cleanup may yield a donation but also numerous items that the Muswellbrook Men’s Shed can use for future projects or simply pass on to people in need; wood, old furniture, old equipment. These items may have otherwise ended up as landfill. The Muswellbrook Men’s Shed is a valid sustainability option for organisations wishing to upgrade existing assets.
