Australian Tourism Export Council Looks at Youth Market

The Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC) is holding three  key upcoming industry events on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia.

Australian Youth Tourism Exchange, Monday 30th April - 2nd May 2012
The Australian Tourism Export Council in partnership with Qantas and supported by Tourism Australia and Accor will hold the Australian Youth Tourism Exchange on the Sunshine Coast on Monday 30th April to Wednesday 2nd May 2012, at the Novotel Twin Waters Resort, Queensland Australia. AYTE provides a cost-effective opportunity for Australian operators to develop and nurture business relationships with international distributors without having to go in-market and will bring together around 30 international Distributors from Australia’s key youth source markets along with 60 Australian operators; to participate in B2B workshops, networking events and post-famils hosted by the STO partners.

Backpacker & Youth Industry Conference, 1 May.
The Australian Tourism Export Council and the Backpacker Youth Tourism Advisory Panel are proud to announce the 7th annual ATEC Backpacker & Youth Industry Conference on the Sunshine Coast on Tuesday 1st May. at the Novotel Twin Waters Resort

The Backpacker & Youth Industry Conference will be held in between Workshop Day 1 & Workshop Day 2 of the Australian Youth Tourism Exchange (AYTE). For further information on AYTE, please click here.  The event brings together industry professionals from all over Australia who are involved in backpacker and youth tourism.  Expert speakers will examine and discuss the latest trends, policy issues and industry opportunities.  

A major focus of the conference program will be the importance of Australia’s Working Holiday Program, where international agents will share their insights and a panel of working holiday makers will be in the spotlight to reveal their candid experiences of being on a working holiday in Australia.  Participants will also have the chance to participate in interactive break-out sessions including the value of Australia’s domestic youth market and the opportunities that may be of benefit to businesses, along with a 101 on doing business in the East. Of course there will be a relaxing networking dinner to enjoy with friends and colleagues.  All in all - an event not to be missed!

Symposium 2012, 2 to 4 May
ATEC is pleased to present an exciting new program and format for Symposium 2012 at the Coolum Golf Resort.that will allow for plenty of interaction and engagement.  There will be plenty of break-out sessions that will allow smaller groups to immerse themselves in more hands-on learning opportunities.  

The highly popular Market Stream sessions will be a part of the program this year, with the added introduction of MasterClasses throughout the afternoon of Day 1 and the morning of Day 2 to deliver environments that allow for more in-depth engagement, enquiry and analysis – ensuring that participants derive as much benefit from these sessions as possible and gain valuable knowledge they can take back and apply into businesses.

Most importantly, Symposium 2012 will celebrate 40 years of ATEC’s representation of the tourism export industry in Australia.  A truly special night is planned filled with surprises, nostalgia and glamour. This will be an opportunity to help celebrate the past while looking to a very exciting future ahead.
