Ha Giang is ready for the Buckwheat Flower Festival in 2024

Following the success of previous festivals, the 10th Buckwheat
Flower Festival 2024 will open at 8:00 p.m. on November 9
at the Youth Square of Dong Van district (Ha Giang province).
Ha Giang has prepared the best conditions for security, safety and environment so that tourists can feel secure to return to explore Ha Giang, especially for the buckwheat flower festival which will officially open on November 9.

Ha Giang Buckwheat Flower Festival is one of the attractive cultural events of the land at the head of the Fatherland, an annual event that is awaited every late autumn and early winter - the time when buckwheat flowers bloom most beautifully on the Dong Van stone plateau.

Following the success of previous festivals, the 10th Buckwheat Flower Festival in 2024 with the theme "The Land of Missing Flowers" will officially open at 8:00 p.m. on November 9 at the Youth Square of Dong Van district (Ha Giang province).

This year's festival promises to have many attractive and unique cultural activities, taking place from November 9 to November 21, such as: Competition to display and introduce traditional costumes of ethnic groups in Dong Van district; demonstration and experience of linen weaving; hand embroidery of traditional costumes; making of daily necessities and traditional musical instruments; display and introduction of cultural products, tourism, agricultural products, cuisine and local medicinal herbs;...

In addition, at the stops and typical cultural tourism villages in Dong Van district, many cultural exchange activities, arts, and folk games will be organized for tourists to experience on Saturdays and Sundays every week. Dong Van district will also organize the inauguration of key tourist projects in the area on this occasion.

Recently, along with the northern provinces, Ha Giang is one of the localities heavily affected by rain and floods, a number of cultural and tourism events had to be stopped, many tourists canceled their tours. However, thanks to the efforts of the authorities, up to now, tourism activities have returned to normal, with many measures to ensure safety for tourists being implemented synchronously.

At the Ha Giang Tourism Promotion, Advertising and Stimulation Conference recently held, Mr. Nguyen Hong Hai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Giang province, affirmed that despite being affected by storm Yagi, Ha Giang is now ready to have the best conditions in terms of security, safety and environment so that tourists can feel secure in returning to explore Ha Giang, especially during the peak season of buckwheat flowers. There are no more restrictions on tourists coming to the province, and tourists are guaranteed all safety conditions. National Highway 2 has been opened to traffic, tourist boats on the Nho Que River have resumed operations, and traffic on Ma Pi Leng Pass is no longer difficult.

Along with ensuring safety in travel and accommodation, Ha Giang is implementing a number of measures to stimulate tourism recovery. In particular, the Provincial Tourism Association has called on members and tourism businesses to respond to the stimulus program, reducing service prices by 10 - 30%, from mid-September 2024 to the end of the peak tourist season in early February 2025. Although it has just started, many hotels and accommodation establishments have participated in the discount program such as: H'Mong Village Resort (Quan Ba); Phoenix Hotel and Yen Bien Luxury Hotel (Ha Giang city) ...

Since the beginning of the year, Ha Giang has welcomed 2,468,000 visitors, of which 290,584 are international visitors and 2,177,416 are domestic visitors, up 14.3% over the same period, reaching 77.1% of the 2024 plan. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at VND 6,120 billion. However, in September 2024, the number of visitors to the province reached 243,000, down 5.4% over the same period last year.
