I visited the Taj Bentota Resort & Spa as part of the Southern MICE Expo 2024 program. I was with a large group of travel and media professionals that attended a Business Forum and Welcome Dinner at the Resort. At the Business Forum various people from Sri Lanka Tourism and the Convention Bureau spoke about the advantages of holding meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions in the Southern Region of Sri Lanka. We then enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner of Sri Lankan and other countries dishes. This was originally planned to be outside in the gardens, but was held inside due to rain. Entertainment was provided by a band with special lighting effects that encouraged the more energetic of our group to get up and dance.
