I enjoyed my room with views over the ocean. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I appreciated the way they decorated the bed with flowers at night. My ensuite bathroom was equiste. Myroom was equipped with modern amenities, including flat-screen TVs, minibars, and complimentary Wi-Fi, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing stay.
Heritance Ahungalla offers a culinary journey with its diverse dining options. The resort's main restaurant, the Ahungalla Restaurant, serves a range of international and local cuisine, including fresh seafood and traditional Sri Lankan dishes. I enjoyed my breakfast each morning at the Heritance Ahungalla. I was impressed with the large range of cuisines, including Sri Lankan and international dishes. I appreciated the attentive service of the breakfast staff.

On my recent trip to Sri Lanka as a guest of the Southern MICE Expo 2024 I was privileged to stay 2 nights at the Heritance Ahungalla. On arrival I appreciated the warm welcome by the drummers and dancers.

The Heritance Ahungalla was formerly the Triton Hotel. The hotel was designed by Geoffrey Bawa, a Sri Lankan architect, and opened in 1981. The hotel is managed by Aitken Spence's Heritance Hotels and Resorts brand and was rebranded as Heritance Ahungalla in 2006.
Geoffrey Bawa is a well-known architect who designed the Sri Lankan Parliament and other institutions. One of his most famous works is the Grand Oriental Hotel, a 3-star heritage hotel in Colombo, Sri Lanka He also designed a charming train station in Hatton, Sri Lanka. Bawa is widely recognized as one of Sri Lanka's best architects.
Heritance Ahungalla's design is inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Sri Lanka, blending traditional and modern elements to create a unique and captivating atmosphere. The resort's open-air courtyards, pools, palm trees, and native shrubs create a sense of harmony with nature, while its sleek and contemporary architecture provides a touch of luxury.
