A unique kind of flower viewing is admiring shibazakura. 

Shibazakura is a kind of phlox moss that carpets the entire ground in shades of pink, white, and purple. 

The Fuji Shibazakura Festival is celebrated at Fuji Motosuko Resort in the Fuji Five Lakes area, where you can see breathtaking views of about 800,000 stalks of shibazakura from mid-April to early June.
