Novotel Newcastle Beach is bringing some of the best minds in the digital and technology space to the city for one day and one night only as part of NewTech 2019, an inspired one day and one night digital and tech collaboration.
Supported by the City of Newcastle, the conference will take place on Friday 6 September at Novotel Newcastle Beach and cover advances in Fintech, Facebook and the rollout of its new digital currency, the importance of data and cyber security, content creation, digital marketing and more.
Keynote speakers include Matt Purcell from Mentored with Mark Bouris, Craig Browning from OAS Technology, Michelle Adams from Accor, Mark Shaw from OFX and Duncan Waterman from D-EDGE, and the day will conclude with a forum session for questions and answers. An after-dark networking cocktail event at the iconic Fort Scratchley will round out the day's theme, 'we live in the present, with an eye to the future whilst celebrating the past.'
Speaking on the future of travel marketing and distribution, Duncan Waterman from D-EDGE will discuss how Artificial Intelligence, Voice Recognition, voice and augmented reality will play a role in the future of travel distribution. He will also talk about how businesses can prepare for the changes and where their priorities should lie.
Craig Browning, owner and director of OAS Technology Group will be talking on cyber security and how threats have changed over the last decade and what businesses should be doing to safeguard themselves. He will also talk on cloud servers and the NBN landscape.
With the relentless advances in the digital landscape, Accor – Australia's largest hotel group, has had to keep pace. Michelle Adams from Accor has seen the group's digital network evolve into a fully integrated platform and she will be talking about the group's approach to content and how it has evolved and grown over time.
