BRISBANE BOAT SHOW OPENS THIS WEEK

The 2017 Brisbane Boat Show opens Friday and runs for three days until Sunday, returning once again to the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre in South Bank.

The Brisbane Boat Show is Queensland’s premier trailer boat event, capturing the great diversity of trailer boating and all the gear for this very popular boating sector.

With Australia’s centre of boat manufacturing at Brisbane’s door step, you can understand why the event will feature the best that the industry has to offer, together with a very impressive international line up.

Whilst boats are the shows core attraction, all the gear for them will also feature; with electronics, safety equipment, fishing gear and much more playing a key part in the event. Anyone who loves boats, fishing and water sports, won’t want to miss it.

Whilst the event organisers boast that the Brisbane Boat Show is the best place to see and buy boats, entertainment and education play a big part in keeping visitors occupied.

The Stage will feature fishing master classes with well-known fishing experts and personalities: Tim Simpson, Paul and Doug Burt, Laurie Mcenally, Steve Morgan and Greg Vinall.

If adventure is in your blood, you must stop to meet and hear Michelle Lee and her mentor Andrew Abrahams. Andrew successfully crossed the Atlantic in a rowing boat not too long ago and is mentoring Michelle to embark on the same journey very soon. Michelle is attempting to be the first Australian woman to do so. A great story worth hearing.

For those with young ones, visit the big pool area where kayak and SUP demonstrations will take place. As well as this, the young ones can have a go in a bumper boat.

If you are new to boating, pop into the My First Boat Precinct where Geoff the Boating Guy will be able to give you some tips on how kids can get onto the water and what you can do to make sure your first boat is right for you.

With boating safety top of mind for all responsible boaties, take the time to visit the boating safety zone where many on-water agencies will be on hand to give you some tips and guidance on how to make sure every outing is a good one.

10am to 8pm Friday and Saturday, and 10am to 6pm Sunday, with parking available at the venue. Tickets are available at the gate and online. You can purchase online for a chance to win a 10’5 Hobie Eclipse valued at $2,890. $5 tickets are available after 5pm.
