New website shows Cairns business events expertise

Cairns & Great Barrier Reef has launched a new website to inspire meeting and incentive planners to bring their events to the destination.

Tourism Tropical North Queensland Director of Business and Tourism Events Rosie Douglas said the clean, modern design showcased superb destination imagery and provided essential information for event planning.

“We surveyed key clients to better understand user needs and the result is a mobile responsive website that users can easily navigate through to find everything they need to know about planning an event in Cairns & Great Barrier Reef,” she said.

“The Business Events Cairns website is the first touch point for many clients and it is critical that we continue to deliver beyond expectations in the highly competitive meetings industry.

“As well as showcasing the spectacular natural environment of Cairns & Great Barrier Reef, the website has comprehensive information on the destination’s event capabilities.

“Business event and regional event calendars are a new feature to inform clients of what is happening in the region around their event dates.

“The launch of the website coincides with the 20th anniversary of the introduction of Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef and the opening of the Cairns Convention Centre. The milestones highlight 20 years of world-class event delivery in an internationally renowned destination and breathtaking location.

“Cairns & Great Barrier Reef continues to develop as the destination of choice for event planners with billions of dollars of investment in the region’s infrastructure.

“This includes the redevelopment of the iconic Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Resort, a planned marina, entertainment and apartment precinct for Port Douglas, construction of the Cairns Aquarium, development of a new Cairns arts precinct and 5-star hotel refurbishments underway in Cairns.”
