Brewster Travel Canada Raises Over $29,000 for Fort McMurray Fire Victims

Brewster Travel Canada announced today that it has raised over $29,000 for the Canadian Red Cross in support of those affected by the wildfires in Fort McMurray. On May 29, Brewster hosted its annual Local’s Appreciation Day, an event that featured admission-by-donation at all five of its attractions with 100% of the proceeds being donated to the Canadian Red Cross.

“The residents of the Bow Valley and Jasper truly came together to support the residents of Fort McMurray on May 29,” said Dave McKenna, President of Brewster Travel Canada. “We were able to raise over $11,000 on that day alone. I’d like to personally thank the entire community and all of the staff and volunteers who supported this event.”

Brewster Travel Canada pledged to donate $10,000, with its leadership team donating an additional $5,000. Collection boxes stationed at all of Brewster’s attractions, Explore Rockies Activity Centres, and at the Mount Royal and Banff International Hotel, helped to raise over $2,700. In addition, Brewster provided free admission for all Fort McMurray residents to all of its attractions including the Banff Gondola, Banff Lake Cruise, Glacier Adventure, Glacier Skywalk & the Maligne Lake Cruise during the entire month of May.

“Over the last month, we’ve welcomed over 5,500 Fort McMurray evacuees to our attractions admission-free,” said Dave McKenna. “We hope that this has provided some well-deserved relaxation after everything that they have been through.”
