Skydive Operations Commence on Rottnest Island

Award winning adventure tourism business, Skydive Geronimo (previously Southern Skydivers,) has introduced tandem skydiving to Rottnest Island.

For the first time, Island visitors have the opportunity to skydive from up to 15,000ft overhead Rottnest, and land on the beaches of Salmon and Bickley Bay's.

CEO of the Rottnest Island Authority, Paolo Amaranti said: “We're excited to have Skydive Geronimo as an addition to what's on offer on Rottnest Island. We're confident this exhilarating activity will be of great benefit to the Island's visitors who will now be able to experience this unique and beautiful destination from a whole new perspective.”

Skydive Geronimo are an adventure tourism business, offering tandem skydiving on Rottnest Island and in the Margaret River Region. Skydive Geronimo Director and Chief Instructor, Glenn Stutt, was among the first to skydive onto the Island last week. Mr Stutt commented: “From altitude we had views of the Island, Fremantle, and Perth city beyond. I have done more than 16,500 skydives, and this is by far the most beautiful place I have ever jumped.”

The first Tandem Skydive decent over Rottnest Island was on Thursday 14th January 2016. Jayde Ferguson from Rottnest Fast Ferries was the first lucky jumper, and her skydive was televised as part of a promotion for adventure tourism activities on the Island.

Activities featured in the promotion included off-road Segway tours by Segway WA and Helicopter joy-flights by Rotorvation Helicopters.

Skydiving on Rottnest Island is available for passengers 12 years and older, and no experience is necessary.
