Ha Long city will host the Miss Tourism International 2015 beauty pageant from November 10 to 30.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism licensed the Elite Viet Nam Company to organise the event.
Representatives of Malaysia-based D'Touch International Foundation, which founded the beauty contest, and Miss Tourism International 2014 Faddya Isabel Halabi Troisi from Venezuela came to Ha Long city to inspect the location in June.
The contest has been organised since 1994 and Viet Nam participated for the first time in 2002. This beauty competition has mostly taken place in Malaysia and so far only once held in another country, China, in 2006. It is expected that this year's competition will bring together 60-65 contestants from countries around the world.
The Vietnamese organiser considers the event as an opportunity to introduce the tourism potential of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ha Long Bay.
