For a lucky Chinese New Year 2015 visit Eureka Skydeck 88

Eureka Skydeck 88 will embrace Melbourne’s rich Chinese culture and international visitors by celebrating the beginning of the Year of the Sheep from 15th February until 1st March with Chinese New Year theming, information panels and a lucky 88 display.

Situated on the 88th floor of Eureka Tower, Eureka Skydeck 88’s location appeals to Chinese visitors as the number 8 is considered a symbol of luck and prosperity in Chinese culture.

Visitors will be able to tie a red ribbon onto a wire display, shaped into the number 88, to leave messages of good luck and well wishes for the Year of the Sheep.

With a sea of red paper lanterns covering the ceiling on the first floor entrance and a two metre tall wire 88 art installation, Eureka Skydeck 88 will be glowing red throughout Chinese New Year.

Bi-lingual information boards from Melbourne’s Chinese Museum will be on display at Eureka Skydeck 88 with social and historical information and images to educate visitors about Chinese culture. Visitors will also have the opportunity to discover their Chinese zodiac sign and what it means to them.

Since opening in 2007, Eureka Skydeck 88 has welcomed hundreds of thousands of Chinese visitors both international and domestic. In 2014 Eureka Skydeck 88 saw a 30% increase in Chinese visitors making China its fastest growing international market. The popular observation deck provides visitor guide booklets in simplified and traditional Chinese and employee’s Chinese speaking staff to enhance the visitor experience.

With a presence on Chinese social media sites Weibo and Wechat, Eureka Skydeck 88 strives to communicate with its ever-growing Chinese fanbase via social media.
