COASTOUT FESTIVAL BEGINS

The colourful CoastOut Festival is bringing its three day extravaganza of sporting, social and cultural activities back to Coffs Harbour this weekend. The festival offers visitors a wide range of activities both in the water, and on land, including bare foot bowls, a pet parade and a beach party.

Renowned for bringing together people from all around Australia, CoastOut was awarded ‘Community Event of the Year’ at the 2012 Australia Day Awards and achieved Destination NSW Regional Flagship Event Status in 2013 and 2014.

Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer, Sandra Chipchase, said: “Coffs Harbour, where the mountains reach the sea, is a seaside holiday destination which not only boasts beautiful beaches, spectacular surf and stunning scenery, it also offers a range of great leisure activities from mountain biking to golf and go carting.”

“I encourage visitors to CoastOut to make most of their time in Coffs Harbour and take advantage of these and the many other fantastic attractions on offer.”

In 2013, the CoastOut Festival attracted around 2,200 attendees to Coffs Harbour, with approximately 1,500 of these from outside the region, contributing an estimated $643,000 in visitor expenditure to the local area.
