Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai Celebrates Several Prestigious Awards

In its first six months since opening, Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai has received several prestigious global and local awards, underlining its position as Shanghai’s most exclusive new hotel. To celebrate, the hotel is offering a tantalizing package priced from CNY 3,400 and available until 28 February 2014. In October, Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai became the only hotel in Asia to make the inaugural list of the ‘10 Hot New Hotels in the World’ by TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel review site. Mandarin Oriental Shanghai ranked number six on the list of 10 global hotels to have made a lasting impression on TripAdvisor travellers.

Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai’s stellar gourmet offerings were also rewarded in October. Fifty 8° Grill and Yong Yi Ting Chinese restaurant both received “three glasses” on the inaugural China Wine List of the Year Awards 2013. The Wine List of the Year was established in Australia in 1994, where it is the premier national award for restaurant wine menus. It expanded to Greater China in 2013, and Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai is one of a few five-star hotels in Greater China to receive the highest “three glasses” award.

In addition, the hotel was named among the ‘Top 10 Most Popular Newly Opened Hotels’ at the 10th Golden Pillow Awards – China Hotels 2013. Presented by China’s 21st Century Business Herald and Business + Travel magazine, the Golden Pillow Awards is one of the most influential awards in China’s hotel industry. A panel of professional judges and millions of Chinese netizens voted for this award.

Some of the world’s most influential travel and lifestyle magazines have also recognised Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai as an exemplary luxury destination. Wallpaper* named it among the ‘Top 40 Best Urban Hotels’ in its October issue; DestinAsian included the hotel on the ‘2013 Luxe List,’ which honours the best new hotels and resorts across Asia Pacific; and Elite Traveler US named the MO Presidential Suite as one of the ‘Top 101 Suites in the World’.
