Comprehensive Guide Free to All Guests at Ayers Rock Resort

Guests at Ayers Rock Resort now have all the tips and insider's knowledge they need to get the best out of their stay from the moment they step foot on the deep ochre-coloured sand. Manta, which is the Anangu word for Landscape, is a brand new guide that will be available free to every guest at Ayers Rock Resort.

Manta features ways for guests to immerse themselves in the living cultural landscape of one of the world's most beautiful natural wonders - the Uluru Kata-Tjuta National Park, as well as details of more than 65 ways to explore this unique destination.

"We know that guests have a thirst for knowledge and wish to make the most of every minute of their stay at this unique location and we undertook research as to the best way that we could help them do this," said Koos Klein, Managing Director of Voyages Indigenous Tourism.

"Manta not only features information on tours, art galleries and the variety of restaurants and activities at Ayers Rock Resort, but also contains a wealth of information about the local Anagnu culture and the geology, flora and fauna of the surrounding landscape," said Koos.

Guests can also learn about the infrastructure behind running a world class Resort in the middle of a desert on one of the flattest, driest and least populated continents on earth. Some facts and figures include:
  • Road Trains three trailer long, with a total length of 55 metres travel 1,663 km from Adelaide to the Resort three times a week;
  • The Resort's technical services team responds to over 30,000 maintenance requests each year and services a
  • fleet of 108 vehicles;
  • The Australian Outback is perhaps one of the best places to explore the night sky, the low humidity and minimal light pollution of the Red Centre allows guests to view the stars and planets like they have never seen them before.
