AirAsia X set to start in Thailand by 2014

With an idea to compete with other medium/long haul carrier Thai Air Asia is going to launch Thai AirAsia X. it is a new subsidiary based same model of its Malaysian counterpart. They are going to provide offers on competitive fares also. As the TAA officials said this medium/long haul is going to take off in the first half of next year.

Further, the CEO of TAA said that obtaining license from Thailand’s Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) wouldn’t be an obstacle. Two aircraft two be started along with are Airbus A330. It will be well furnished with two classes 365 economy seats and 12 premium flatbed seats.

The first services will start from Korea and Japan as they are the most popular destination for the Thai and they are the top inbound travellers to Thailand tourism market. This initiative has given a boost to number of issues like the Bangkok Don Mueang Airport will be reestablished as an intercontinental gateway.

The places to which AirAsia X intends to fly are China, Australia, Taiwan, Iran, South Korea and Japan and also offers charter Hajj flights to Jeddah.
