The Specialty Mentaiju in Japan

Fukuoka is famed for its mentaiko (spicy cod roe) and Ganso Hakata Mentaiju one of the best places to try this savoury delicacy. 

Their specialty is the mentaiju, a dish that consists of a piece of mentaiko wrapped in kelp, served over rice topped with seaweed flakes and seasoned with a special sauce.
Another popular dish is the mentai-nikomi tsukemen (dipping noodles) which comes with a rich-tasting broth made with mentaiko and over 10 types of vegetables. 

You can pair your meal with local sake specially selected to pair perfectly with mentaiko.
