The new ‘Smoko’ break for 2020 is launched

After more than 35 years in the health and fitness industry including launching the Fitness First brand in Australia and creating Gwinganna Health Retreat, Tony DeLeede’s company Wellness Solutions has created the new ‘Smoko break’ for the twenties and called it ‘ the wello’.

What is ‘the wello?’
Wellness solutions have introduced ‘the wello’: a bite-sized break of between five to ten minutes of breathing or meditation classes and up to 30 minutes of your choice of wellness including yoga, pilates, stretch, strength and dance.

Businesses are looking for ways to bring wellness into the workplace. Wellness Solutions have a number of ways to create a productive work environment with creative wellness spaces.

Many corporates are looking at setting up both a wellness room and a recovery room for their staff’s ‘wello breaks’ which consist of the following pods:
  • Breathing and Meditation Chair: The O2 Chair guides users to breathe more consciously slowly and deeply and includes air purifier oxygen concentrate, guided breathing exercises and a zero-gravity experience.
  • The Recovery chair: More than a traditional massage chair, this offers unique body scanning technology for a total mind and body recovery experience.
  • The Infrared Sauna offers a combination of infrared technology and colour light therapy to restore physical and mental balance. Choose from meditation breathing content to complete the experience.
Companies such as WeWork are at the forefront of this positive offering. WeWork’s office spaces combine workplace design and down-to-earth community encompassing the ‘wello’ break room with yoga mats facing a large screen which plays a choice of content and a choice of times

Why ‘the wello?
Tony De Leede, Wellness Solutions, said, “We are resetting the world of wellness and the businesses are getting on board. They realise how important it is to have their staff functioning with less stress.”
He said, “Studies have shown that employees who experience relaxation with others during their lunch breaks were less exhausted during the afternoon. Other studies have found that short breaks in the afternoon resulted in higher work engagement and daily 15 minute walks resulted in a 30 percent productivity boost. So why not?”

Who is doing the wello?
This is a new concept and Wellness Solutions are talking to a number of corporates throughout Australia. Wellness solutions supermarket of content of Mind123 and Move 123 have been installed in 24 Hour fitness gyms across the US as well as a Canadian property developer’s apartment buildings.
