An update from our Chief Executive Officer

A month on from my last update, I hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy and have been able to enjoy some moments of peace and normal life at home.

The pandemic continues to impact communities all over the world, and I want to offer my heartfelt good wishes to those who have been directly affected by COVID-19. As strong a foe as the virus may be, I continue to be struck by the power of the human spirit, as people and communities come together for the common good.

Centara’s DNA is built on Thai family values and particularly the notions of caring, sharing, and a sense belonging. Caring for people, be they our guests, employees, partners or communities is first nature to us and we have a responsibility to make a positive difference wherever we can.

Helping the Heroes
While some of our hotels are temporarily closed for the month of April as we support social distancing and responsible business practices, we are finding ways to use our properties that remain open to serve our communities. We are offering excellent value food delivery services in Thailand and overseas to ensure fresh hot meals can be enjoyed from the comfort of your home. In Muscat, Oman, we have provided over one hundred rooms to the Omani government as a serviced venue for people in need to quarantine for 14 days with food delivered three times per day. And in Bangkok, we launched a programme this month with major local hospitals to provide complimentary hotel room accommodation and food to staff. Doctors, nurses and support workers are putting in incredibly long and challenging shifts and we wanted to offer our services to these front line heroes who are working tirelessly for the wellbeing of all people. We hope this will alleviate some of the stress and strain of their job by ensuring they can get rest near work without having to commute long hours and can return refreshed.

We are also exploring further initiatives to support the crisis and its front line heroes and will keep you posted.

Booking and Cancellation Flexibility
We understand how worrying it can be when trips are cancelled or travel plans can’t go ahead for any reason, and we want to give you total peace of mind that we have you covered during these uncertain times. As promised, we continue to update our booking and cancellation policies as the situation evolves, in order to provide the support and flexibility you require.

I wanted to reassure you that our policy continues to support any necessary changes to reservations without penalty. Cancellation fees are currently waived for stays between now and 31st July 2020 and you can find full details of our policy here. We hope this is one less concern for you to worry about.

CentaraThe1 Loyalty Members
We would also like to assure our loyal members that any points and in turn, membership statuses, that are scheduled to expire between now and 31st July will be preserved. Sign-in to your account to check your membership status.

In closing, stay strong, stay safe, and stay at home. As soon as you are able to travel again, our hotels and resorts will be open and ready to welcome you with Centara’s warm and familiar embrace.

Yours sincerely,
Thirayuth Chirathivat, Chief Executive Officer
